WOW!!! @JasonPStewartNMsnc2016 , I'm blown away with such a helpful bounty of info. THANK YOUI! It will take me some time to absorb and follow-up, and I won't get to start that before the weekend, but I will respond once I have! Cheers, MazzV

Yep ! Okay.
Many indigenous species of _Senecio_ grow around SE. Au .
Identifying each species requires checking their details, including in these not–big flowers .

Done!

Makes it easier to see the old inflorescence.
With one of the _Lomandra longifolia_ botanical diagnostic feature's of
the side branches of the inflorescence, only on the sides of its flat culm (stalk),
–clearest to see, approximately in the middle of this fifth photograph.

Related _Lomandra hystrix_ , usually growing in river sides, for example, has
the side branches of the inflorescence, spiralling all the way around the culm (stalk), with no flat 'stalk' gap in the branches as shown here in this _Lomandra longifolia_ sighting .

Hi Jason - thank you. That would be nice. Kevin told me to buy a hand lens which I did but I’ll have to find it. I’ll let you know when I do and we can sort out the senecio. Cheers, Lisa

Hi @Tapirlord - this sighting can't be the same species as sighting 4672924, Hakea laurina (Pincushion Hakea) ... the leaves are lacking the prominent veins. Can you please check?

Hakea laurina
