Yes I have shots from around 7 years ago of multiple skinks and water dragons around the elevated walkway at the rocky area. Lately I’ve seen one skink to photograph in that area. Based on personal experience and the odd anecdote I agree with you, although it’s not scientific. The older photos are valuable though as examples of what was there.
