Varanus rosenbergi (Heath or Rosenberg's Monitor)

Dark stripe behind eye and many regularly spaced, relatively thin, pale bands on tail distinguish this species from the more common Lace Monitor.

Dark barring on lips, chin and throat relatively thin compared to the Lace Monitor, which is also known as the Tree Goanna, as it's much more likely to climb trees when disturbed than a Heath Monitor.
