In grassy woodland at "The Fair" project site, close to a eucalypt. Attracting flies. The first 3 photos were taken on 22 January and the last photo on 29 January, showing the residue of the stinkhorn.
My dog recently picked up the scent of one of these from twenty metres away. He also then grabbed one and despite my best efforts to get it off him, he ran away and ate it. Did him no harm in the end.
@MatthewFrawley dogs!! They love the most disgusting things. These aren't toxic, thankfully, and the "eggs" (the immature form) are eaten abroad. Personally, I'll stick with the more palatable mushies...😅 If you're ever curious, though, the Asian shops in Dickson have them tinned!
