ALA data matching improvements

Hi All,

NatureMapr is working with the Atlas of Living Australia team to improve the success rate of matching species names between the 2 platforms.

There are currently some matching issues primarily affecting records that are only verified to genus or family level.

This means that there is a small risk of some genus and family level records not displaying the correct species name once they are imported into the ALA.

We need to make some minor structural improvements to the NatureMapr taxonomy to support improved and cleaner matching between the 2 systems.

We'll provide further updates as these structural tweaks are rolled out, but we will try to make any changes as least disruptive to the community as possible.

Cheers

Aaron.

Yeah good news for some NatureMapr taxonomy structural improvements
– on the side of this, as you know, recently Ciaran and I shared making the suggestion of some NatureMapr internal taxonomy structural improvement in our recent feature request emails.

Thank you Aaron. To align the programs will be the most useful change you can make, hopefully 'other' catagories will eventually be eliminated. Kind regards, Bron King
