Entomophthora sp. (genus) attacks flies. But there is a similar fungus that attacks beetles- Erynia sp. (genus). See an example of Erynia nebriae at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/westgpottery/49169577782

This is an interesting puzzle. I have put it into an 'unknown fungi on insects' category for the moment. Perhaps it will be identifiable to at least genus in the future. It will at least be more easily findable in that pigeonhole. I will do the same with another sighting of yours.
